Habitat
Dear Friends,
Christmas 2008 is fast approaching...have you thought of what you can or would like to do to bless another person or family to make his/her/their world a better one? Well, we at SNZGA thought that organizing this Habitat Building session would be one of the ways in which you will be able to do so. We are therefore inviting all of you to
COME BUILD WITH US!SATURDAY 13TH DECEMBER 2008.
No construction experience is necessary. young or old, male or female, we will be able to find work appropriate for you, and we are sure that you will gain a great deal of knowledge and self-confidence from the experience... not to mention feeling great about having concretely helped (no pun intended!) to make one family's life a whole lot better.
Message from James Lo, Vice-President ,Habitat for Humanity, Kuching Affiliate.. "Thank you for believing that small individual efforts such as this, can really improve some people's lives. Many of our homepartner families describe receiving a Habitat home as being transformational. The parents can work and save better in a secure home. The children can study and grow better in a healthy environment. We can break the cycle of poverty together... all it takes is the will to make a change."
TOGETHER WE CAN BUILD

Date: Saturday, 13th December 2008
Time: 9.00 - 4.00 pm; 1 hour lunch break (if anyone needs to leave to attend important personal matters, please feel free to do so)
The following are a few useful points to know:-
- Do not wear sandals or any open-toed shoes because of the danger of heavy things dropping on your feet.
- Wear old working shoes and clothes (eg. loose comfortable t-shirt) as you can get quite dirty at the site.
- Shorts are permitted but not recommended. Abrasions, cuts, scratches and sunburn are most common injuries at a build.
- Bring gloves, hats, sunblock, a change of clothes, face towel, etc.
- Please follow instructions of the Construction Supervisor or the skilled workers at all times to prevent injuries especially with regard to use of electrical tools.
- Building tools are available on site. But if you bring your own building tools, please mark them and take them home with you after each day's work, unless you may want to donate them to Habitat.
- Sign a Release & Waiver of Liability Form before you start work.
- Clean drinking water will be provided at the site.
- Please note that lunch will be on your own, this will NOT be provided.
- First Aid Kit will be available on site to attend to minor injuries.
Our Construction Supervisor who will be working with your team is Eric Yap (016-868 5619). He has been informed of your group's availability to volunteer this Saturday, 13th December 2008. I'm sure all of you will enjoy working with him.
No prior building experience is necessary. All you need is to be flexible and have a willing heart to help.
Thank you for caring and hope all of you will enjoy the build.
Best regards,
